Le bureau de Beyrouth est responsable de la couverture du Liban et de la Syrie, deux pays au cœur de l’actualité régionale et souvent mondiale. Le premier à cause d’une crise politique et économique sans précédent qui a commencé il y’a plus d’un an et qui enfonce le pays de plus en plus dans le gouffre et le pousse vers un avenir incertain. Le deuxième à cause d’un conflit qui, s’il connait un répit depuis quelques mois, n’est pas encore fini et a installé le pays dans une crise économique et sécuritaire potentiellement explosive.

• To create a tool for journalists that is useful and saves them time.
• To generate profits to help finance journalism at AFP, in a context of crisis for our traditional clients and a decline in their revenues.

The role is an exciting opportunity to be a part of AFP's fast-growing fact-checking network, which has seen it take a leading role in the global fight against disinformation.

The position requires an agile journalist who can easily navigate online disinformation, mostly on Facebook but also other major social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, YouTube or TikTok.

The editor will focus on misinformation in Asia and edit fact-checking stories from around the region. Applicants must have strong digital investigation skills and demonstrated experience in digital verification techniques and tools. Strong editing skills and solid news judgement are a must. Asian languages are a plus.
