Pro-government forces in Ethiopia said Monday they had taken control of the town of Alamata in southern Tigray after days of clashes with rebel forces across multiple fronts.
A statement by the Tigray Peace Force, an armed group composed of Tigrayan fighters who had aligned with the federal government, said in a statement on Facebook that they had liberated the town alongside the national army.
Conflict monitor ACLED also said federal forces had reportedly seized control of Alamata.
