ChatEurope

Understanding Europe Has Never Been Easier

Creation of an innovative news platform integrating a chatbot capable of answering questions on European issues in all EU languages.

ChatEurope formulates its answers solely based on the content (articles, in-depth investigations, videos and even documentaries) provided by consortium members and on thousands of articles from the previous project European Data News Hub (EDNH), offering its users a guarantee of reliability.  

Duration and funding: The ChatEurope project is co-funded by the European Commission, lasts two years, and will conclude on February 28, 2027.

ChatEurope is where innovation meets reliability. This project gives citizens direct, personalised, and verified access to European news, at a time of widespread disinformation. The media must evolve with AI — and that’s exactly what we’re doing here.

European Digital Media Observatory

 

The European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) aims to analyse and combat online disinformation. The EDMO team is made up of fact-checkers, media literacy experts, and academic researchers. EDMO operates through 14 hubs, both national and multinational, covering 28 countries across the EU and the EEA.

A EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE (AEP)

 

 

This project aims to create a large-scale newsroom without language barriers, powered by AI.

How does it work? European media organisations share their content through a platform that translates both text and audio reports into various languages. These translations are then verified by journalists from the respective newsrooms before being made available to the public. Each partner can access content in the language most relevant to their audience, offering a European perspective on current events.

Duration and funding: The 'A European Perspective' project is co-financed by the European Union and led by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union). It spans one year and will conclude on 30 June 2025.

EUROPEAN AUDIO DATASPACE (EAD)

The initiative aims to establish The Audio Marketplace, a B2B digital platform that facilitates the exchange, sale, and purchase of audio content across Europe. It provides podcasters and digital content producers with a secure space to collaborate and monetise their content.

Duration and funding: The EAD project is co-financed by the European Commission, lasts 15 months, and will conclude on 30 September 2025.

EUROPEAN NEWSROOM (ENR)

 

 

A shared newsroom, open to partner agencies operating in Brussels, dedicated to promoting comprehensive and independent information about the EU and its institutions, while combating misinformation. The initiative also seeks to foster the exchange of expertise and provide training workshops, organised by dpa and AFP.

Duration and funding: The ENR project is co-financed by the European Commission, lasts for two years, and will conclude on 31 January 2026.

TRUSTED EUROPEAN MEDIA DATASPACE

TEMS is a trusted European media data space designed to transform how companies and organisations in the media and creative sectors share content and data, while maximising the value they can derive from them.

Within the project, AFP is responsible for identifying the needs and requirements of the media sub-sectors in order to create a data space that is tailored, viable, and attractive for the entire industry. AFP also leads a dedicated use case on fact-checking and news, with the objectives of (i) anticipating new opportunities for leveraging verified content, and (ii) developing technological standards that support the identification and traceability of news content.

Duration and funding: TEMS is co-financed by the European Union under the Digital Europe programme. It will last three years and conclude on 30 September 2026.

Centred on innovation, the TRANSMIXR project focuses on developing AI-powered collaboration tools and immersive technologies for the media, live performance, and museum sectors. The initiative brings together key stakeholders from these industries, along with universities, research institutes, and technology companies.

Duration and funding: The TRANSMIXR project is funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme. It lasts for three years and will conclude on 30 September 2025.
