Philippe Onillon has been Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AFP since October 2024. After studying economics and graduating from the Lille School of Journalism (ESJ), he began his career at AFP as a journalist in Paris, Lyon and London before heading the economics department at headquarters. He subsequently held several senior roles within the Global News Management and the Europe-Africa region, before serving in turn as France Director, News Editor, and Deputy Global News Director for journalists’ mobility.
