AFP photographer Cristina Quicler has won the 35th Andalusian Journalism Award in the photography category for her picture “Rocío Chico, traslado de la Virgen del Rocío”, awarded by the Junta de Andalucía (Regional Government of Andalucia).

AFP Fact-checking: Projeto Comprova wins the 2021 ANJ Press Freedom Award
The Comprova Project, a media consortium in Brazil of which AFP has been a member since 2018, has won the Press Freedom Award 2021 awarded by the National Association of Newspapers (ANJ). This award is shared with the Consórcio de Veículos de Imprensa, since both initiatives were recognized for the crucial role of journalism and cooperation between agencies, fighting digital misinformation through fact-checking.
The Comprova Project, a media consortium in Brazil of which AFP has been a member since 2018, has won the Press Freedom Award 2021 awarded by the National Association of Newspapers (ANJ).
