Three AFP photographers win prizes at POYi 2020
Three AFP photographers have won prizes in the 78th edition of the Pictures of the Year International (POYi), the world’s oldest photo prize.

Three AFP photographers have won prizes in the 78th edition of the Pictures of the Year International (POYi), the world’s oldest photo prize.

On the 10th anniversary of the POY Latam, which recognises excellence in documentary, journalistic and artistic photography in Latin America, AFP photographer Eitan Abramovich was awarded second place in the special category 'The Pandemic in Latin America' for his highly aesthetic and intimate portrait of his family life during the pandemic.
AFP photojournalist Bülent Kiliç received first and third prizes in the category Spot News Single at the annual World Press Photo Awards.
Amongst the 148 photos received for this new edition of the Prix Varenne, the Jury rewarded, Wednesday February 17, 2021, the work of two AFP photographers: Kenzo Tribouillard, National Press Award and Leo Malafaia, International Award.

AFP journalist Clément Melki has been awarded the Young Journalist Prize in the National Daily Press category of the Prix Varenne for his report entitled "God, Water and Us: When Migrants Cross the Channel". The report was published by several media including Libération, Médiapart and La Croix. In February, two other AFP journalists received awards in the Prix Varenne, Kenzo Tribouillard (National Press Prize) and Léo Malafaia (the International Prize).
