Dubai, April 4, 2018 (AFP) - AFP photographer Ahmad Gharabli on Wednesday took home first prize at the Arab Journalism Awards in Dubai for his work documenting protests in Jerusalem.
Paris, France, April 11, 2018 (AFP) - AFP's chief executive Emmanuel Hoog announced Wednesday that he was withdrawing his bid for a third term at the head of the international news agency after failing to secure government support.
Shah Marai was killed in Kabul on Monday 30 April after rushing to the scene to cover an initial explosion in the Afghan capital. The second attack clearly targeted the press: eight other journalists working for local media were among the victims.
