سيطر الحوثيون اليمنيون الجمعة على حنيش الكبرى والصغرى، آخر جزيرتين في محيط منطقة باب المندب كانتا في أيدي القوات الحكومية، وفق ما أفاد مسؤول عسكري حكومي وكالة فرانس برس.
وجاء ذلك بعد ساعات من استيلاء المقاتلين المدعومين من إيران على جزيرة ميون الاستراتيجية في وسط المضيق، مستكملين بذلك السيطرة على المضيق الاستراتيجي.
وقال المسؤول العسكري في الحكومة اليمنية المدعومة من السعودية "كلّ ما كان في قبضتنا على الساحل الغربي سقط"، في إشارة الى سيطرة الحوثيين على كل ساحل البحر الأحمر.
