توعد رئيس مجلس الشورى الإيراني محمد باقر قاليباف الولايات المتحدة الأحد بردّ "أسرع وأشد" على ضرباتها، غداة إعلان طهران استهداف ناقلات نفط، إضافة إلى سفن حربية عائدة لواشنطن، ردا على قصف الأخيرة ثلاث ناقلات إيرانية.
وقال قاليباف الذي قاد وفد بلاده في المفاوضات لإنهاء الحرب مع الولايات المتحدة "لا بد وأن الأميركيين فهموا أن عصر الردود المتناسبة قد انتهى"، مضيفا في كلمة أوردها الإعلام الرسمي "أي اعتداء على مصالح إيران وأمنها، سيلقى ردا أسرع وأشد وأكثر إيلاما".
