AFP approves its accounts for 2017

During a Board Meeting held on April 10, 2017, AFP directors approved the accounts for the 2017 financial year. They report a higher operating margin (€15.9M) and operating income (€3.6M) than for 2016, and than initially forecast for 2017. The net group result stood at - €4.8M, although this includes an exceptional provision of €5.8M without which 2017 would have been positive.

The 2018 Edition of the World Press Photo has rewarded the work of three AFP photojournalists, with a picture by Ronaldo Schemidt taking the top honour, the World Press Photo of the Year.

AFP joins RSF initiative to combat disinformation and to distinguish trustworthy media

An innovative media self-regulatory initiative designed to combat disinformation online – called the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI) – was launched today by Reporters Without Borders (RSF), and its partners Agence France Presse (AFP), the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the Global Editors Network (GEN).
