Getty Images and AFP Renew Partnership Agreement

Getty Images, the leading provider of digital media and Agence France-Presse (AFP), the global press agency, announced today that they have renewed their agreement. The renewed contract takes effect on 1st June 2009 and extends the partnership between the two companies for a further three years.

Getty Images, the leading provider of digital media and Agence France-Presse (AFP), the global press agency, announced today that they have renewed their agreement. The renewed contract takes effect on 1st June 2009 and extends the partnership between the two companies for a further three years.

The strategic relationship between AFP and Getty Images was formed in 2003, to provide customers around the world with a comprehensive editorial photography service that leveraged the complementary strengths and experience of the two companies.

Nick Evans-Lombe, chief operating officer, Getty Images said: “Since 2003, our partnership with AFP has greatly aided us in providing an unparalleled product and service to our customers and helped extend our global reach, particularly in Europe. As the demand for compelling editorial imagery from our customers continues to grow, we are delighted to extend the relationship and we look forward to another successful and rewarding three years.”

AFP and Getty Images also signed a separate agreement on video sharing at the beginning of the year. Under the terms of the agreement, each party was granted access to the other's video productions, for which they have non-exclusive worldwide marketing rights.
