AFP’s exceptional series of photographs of women fighting Myanmar’s junta on the frontlines has won the Photography category at the prestigious Human Rights Press Awards 2024.
AFP photographers Oli Scarff and Adrian Dennis have been awarded at the BPPA Press Photographer of the Year 2023.
Oli Scarff has been named Photographer of the Year and has won in the Arts & Entertainment category. He also received an honourable mention in the Sport (Away from the Action) category.
The 81st edition of the Pictures of the Year International, the world's oldest photojournalism competition, once again honoured the work of AFP photojournalists, including Luis Tato, who received the Photographer of the Year award, the highest distinction of the competition.

Paris based photographer Olivier Morin received an honourable mention at the Siena Awards on Saturday for a photograph showing fish trapped in a plastic bag.
The photo was taken near Pietarsaari, Finland, on May 3rd 2023, during the spring ice melt.
