Agence France-Presse on Friday launched the 2017 Kate Webb Prize to recognise exceptional Asian journalists doing difficult and dangerous work across the region.
From the 2nd to the 8th of October, war correspondents – professionals from all over the world who have set themselves the mission of telling their stories from the war – will be honored for the 24th consecutive year with the Bayeux-Calvados Award. This event will also be the first highlight of the school year for many secondary school students and youth organizations…

AFP's Kabul bureau has won one of Asia's most prestigious journalism prizes, the SOPA (Society of Publishers in Asia), for a report exposing the practice of "bacha bazi", or institutionalised child sex slavery, in Afghanistan.
