أمهلت إيران الخميس دبلوماسيا سويديا في طهران 48 ساعة لمغادرة البلاد، عقب قرار السويد الأربعاء طرد أحد موظفي السفارة الإيرانية في ستوكهولم.
وقالت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية في بيان بثه التلفزيون الرسمي "استُدعي السفير السويدي إلى وزارة الخارجية" في طهران للتنديد بهذا "القرار غير المبرر والذي يتنافى مع القانون الدولي".
واتهم وزير العدل السويدي غونار سترومر إيران الأربعاء بأنها "تنفذ منذ فترة طويلة أنشطة داخل السويد وضدها، تستهدف الأشخاص المعارضين للنظام الإيراني، فضلا عن مصالح يهودية وإسرائيلية مختلفة في بلدنا".
