FlightSafety International Inc. (FSI), the global leader in aviation training and simulation technology, today announced an agreement with Azul Brazilian Airlines to design and manufacture a new Embraer E190-300 (E190-E2) Level D Full-Flight Simulator. Anticipated for delivery in late 2027, the simulator will expand Azul’s pilot training capabilities at its training center in Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil.
“Our partnership with Azul reflects a shared commitment to advancing aviation training and safety,” said Michele Posey, Executive Vice President, Sales, FlightSafety International. “This new simulator will provide Azul pilots with a highly realistic training environment that supports the development of critical skills and prepares them for the demands of commercial flight operations.”
“This new simulator represents another important investment in Azul’s operational excellence and long-term growth strategy. Expanding our training capabilities ensures that we continue to prepare our pilots to the highest standards while supporting the evolution of our E2 fleet. By combining advanced technology, world-class training, and a strong safety culture, we reinforce our commitment to delivering the safe, reliable, and welcoming experience our customers expect from Azul,” said Daniel Tkacz, Vice President of Operations at Azul.
Azul operates the largest Embraer E2 fleet in Brazil, with 50 E195-E2 aircraft currently in service. The next-generation aircraft play a key role in the airline’s network strategy, combining increased fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and enhanced comfort for Azul customers. The new simulator will support the continued development of flight crews as Azul expands and modernizes its operations.
For more than three decades, FSI has supported training for Embraer aircraft through the development of advanced simulation technology. To date, the company has designed and manufactured more than 120 Embraer aircraft simulators, including Full-Flight Simulators and Flight Training Devices, currently in operation across North and South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia.
The agreement builds on FSI’s continued investment in commercial aviation training and simulation, including its recently announced plans to acquire Acron Technologies’ Commercial Training Solutions. The acquisition, which remains subject to regulatory approvals and other closing conditions, will expand FSI’s simulator manufacturing capabilities and global training footprint, strengthening its ability to support airline customers worldwide.
