French policeman charged after firing tear gas grenade at high school student: prosecutor
A French policeman was on Tuesday charged with violence over the firing of a tear gas grenade last week at close range at a 14-year-old student during the high school protests that have shaken the country, the prosecutor said.
The boy, named as Eden, lost most of his teeth and was wounded in the face in the incident Monday in Saint-Ouen-L'Aumone, northwest of Paris.
The policeman had not been detained but placed under judicial control and banned from working until further notice, the local prosecutor said.
