English-language fact-check editor

Agence France-Presse (AFP) is looking for an English-language editor to join its fact-check team.


The editor will focus on misinformation in Asia and edit fact-checking stories from around the region. Applicants must have strong digital investigation skills and demonstrated experience in digital verification techniques and tools. Strong editing skills and solid news judgement are a must. Asian languages are a plus.


The position will be based in AFP’s Hong Kong office. The role requires an ability to work in a fast-paced multimedia newsroom and meet tight deadlines. While the editor will specialise in fact-check editing, they may also be required to assist with other key digital verification tasks, from sourcing breaking news UGC to writing wire stories about disinformation.
