September 25 Board of Directors'meeting: AFP confirms that it will post a positive operative margin at the end of 2012

AMIDST DIFFICULT ECONOMIC CONDITIONS, A SUSTAINED INTERNATIONAL CRISIS AND STRUCTURAL DIFFICULTIES ENCOUNTERED BY THE FRENCH PRESS, AFP – ON THE OCCASION OF ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING HELD ON 25 SEPTEMBER – CONFIRMED A TRIPLE OBJECTIVE:

- From the financial viewpoint: the objective of a positive operating margin at the end of year 2012 thanks to controlling charges and to the anticipated increase in sales will be met;

- From the editorial viewpoint: the Agency’s desire for ever greater development, in France and internationally, of the video, multimedia and sports offering is reiterated. By the end of the year 2012, some new editorial offerings will appear on the wires in French;

- From the European viewpoint: the prospect of a positive settlement of the complaint being handled by the European Commission in Brussels by the end of the year is reaffirmed so that the Agency’s public resources can be made secure within the framework of its tasks of general interest.
