AFP Fact Check celebrates the International Day of Fact-Checking on April 2
April 2 is the International Fact-Checking Day, a celebration to acknowledge the tireless work done by organisations across the world to promote information integrity and fight disinformation and manipulation, in a time of mounting pressures.

AFP’s Digital Investigation, as the largest Fact-Checking team in the world, contributes to this global effort in a notable way. This was underlined in 2025 by the winning of the two highest distinctions of editorial excellence in Fact-Checking, at Global and African level.
AFP Fact Check releases its annual report for 2025 to recognise the work accomplished and better gear up for the years to come.
