AFP Exhibition "Feeding the World, the Global Food Challenge" at Forte di Bard

Organised by Forte di Bard and AFP, the exhibition will be held at the Aosta Valley (Italy) fort from 14 March to 17 July 2026.

On a planet capable of producing enough to feed 10 billion people, millions still suffer from hunger. This paradox illustrates one of the greatest contradictions of our time: while some populations struggle to access basic food, other regions of the world face waste and excess.

The exhibition invites visitors to look at these inequalities through more than 80 photographs. It highlights the fragility of a food system affected by population growth, climate change, and the unsustainable exploitation of resources.

Producing more is no longer enough. It has become essential to rethink how we grow, distribute, and consume. From the environmental impact of intensive farming to the rise of plant-based cuisine and new food horizons like synthetic products, the exhibition explores the tensions between tradition and innovation. It offers a reflection on a universal challenge and the urgent need to invest in equity and sustainability to build the food of tomorrow.

Following "There is no more time" (2024) and "Contrasts" (2025), Forte di Bard and AFP continue their collaboration, focusing on global issues that showcase the daily work of the Agency's photojournalists.
