The 2018 Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar Photo Contest recognized the work of five AFP photographers.
The 2018 edition of the World Press Photo has rewarded three AFP photojournalists, including Ronaldo Schemidt, one of six finalists for the World Press Photo of the Year.
AFP's Kabul bureau has won one of Asia's most prestigious journalism prizes, the SOPA (Society of Publishers in Asia), for a report exposing the practice of "bacha bazi", or institutionalised child sex slavery, in Afghanistan.
During the annual ceremony of the White House News Photographer Association, the WHNPA jury awarded prizes to Jim Watson, Olivier Douliery, Saul Loeb and Brendan Smialowski.
Anuj Chopra and Noel Celis has been honoured at the Human Rights Press Awards Hong Kong.
