Olympics: special AFP coverage of this summer’s major sports event

Sports, a strategic priority, are being featured at AFP all summer. Beginning long before the start of the events, AFP has been on the ground since London was named in 2005 to hold this year’s Olympic Games to monitor preparations.   AFP is sending 180 journalists to the Olympics in the British capital to provide comprehensive coverage of all the action and behind-the-scenes news.

AFP opens Olympic photo exhibition in Taiwan

Agence France-Presse and Taiwan's Central News Agency on Wednesday opened a photo exhibition in Taipei 101, the world's second-tallest building, featuring more than a century of Olympic history.   The 165 photos on display -- including 120 from AFP's vast archive -- stretch from the first modern Games in Athens in 1896 to the Beijing event in 2008.
