AFP and Japanese news agency JIJI Press have extended an historic collaboration that goes back decades

AFP’s global news coverage in text, photos, and graphics will continue to be made available to Japanese clients via JIJI Press, under an agreement signed in Paris by AFP Chairman and CEO Emmanuel Hoog and JIJI President Masahiro Nakato last wednesday.

The agreement in addition allows AFP to supplement its already extensive news coverage of Japan with JIJI’s text and picture coverage.

“Our two agencies have worked well in servicing the Japanese market for more than 50 years. We are delighted to extend this cooperation,” Hoog said at a signing ceremony at AFP’s headquarters here.

The AFP chairman said that AFP’s services reach almost every major Japanese newspaper, broadcaster and new media outlet via JIJI Press in addition to financial institutions, the Japanese government and other organisations.
