The Kremlin on Friday slammed EU sanctions on Russian commentator Xenia Fedorova, who had been expelled by France over claims that she is a Russian agent, as "unlawful" and decrying the "persecution of a media representative".
"This is not the first unlawful sanction of this kind. This is blatant pressure on the media. This is the persecution of a media representative," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters at a briefing.
