Building on 1,500 White Certificate projects, GreenYellow continues its partnership with Eiffage for the new 2026–2030 period.
07 Sep 2026 - 17:40
Over four years of collaboration, this partnership has enabled the monetisation of more than 1,500 projects, directly contributing to improving the return on investments made by Eiffage’s clients.
A partnership driving energy performance
The collaboration primarily involves the activities of Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, with projects including:
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in commercial and tertiary-sector buildings, including offices, healthcare facilities and logistics platforms.
- Deployment of Building Management Systems (BMS) .
- Industrial refrigeration systems for production processes.
- Heat recovery projects in industrial and tertiary-sector facilities.
- Public lighting renovation projects for local authorities.
- Energy renovation projects for multi-family residential buildings , particularly thermal insulation and heating system replacement, carried out by Eiffage Construction.
The industrial and tertiary sectors currently account for most of the projects supported.
Beyond securing White Certificate incentives, the partnership enables Eiffage teams to offer their clients more competitive solutions, secure White Certificate applications and accelerate investment decisions through optimised financing . It also contributes to developing new business opportunities in high-potential markets such as data centers, healthcare facilities and logistics platforms equipped with heat pumps .
When White Certificates enable large-scale projects
Among the most significant projects are:
- An energy performance contract incorporating a complete renovation of the refrigeration systems at a private healthcare facility, with a particularly low remaining cost thanks to the monetisation of White Certificates.
- Several data center projects.
- Major renovation projects for multi-family residential buildings and school complexes.
White Certificates: a major lever for financing decarbonization
Created in 2005, the White Certificates scheme is one of France’s main mechanisms for financing energy renovation. It is based on an obligation imposed on energy suppliers to finance measures that reduce energy consumption among households, businesses, local authorities and industrial companies.
Against a backdrop of rising energy costs, increasingly ambitious decarbonization targets and the need to strengthen the competitiveness of economic players, White Certificates play a key role in financing energy efficiency investments.
The launch of the sixth period (2026–2030) comes with strengthened targets to continue France’s efforts to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This new phase confirms the scheme’s central role in financing the energy transition in France, while placing greater emphasis on performance and targeting the most effective projects.
As the scheme continues to evolve, public authorities are pursuing their work to strengthen its effectiveness, support national decarbonization ambitions and explore ways of providing greater support for the electrification of energy uses where this contributes to reducing energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.
“White Certificates are now much more than a financial support mechanism: they are an accelerator for energy transition investments. Eiffage’s renewed trust demonstrates the value of expert support that combines regulatory expertise, administrative compliance and the economic optimisation of projects. We are delighted to continue this joint momentum into the scheme’s new period,” says Claire Chastrusse, Development Director at GreenYellow France.
