The International news agency, Agence France Presse (AFP) and BNS, Asia’s leading IPTV technology and content solutions provider, have entered into a content distribution partnership to make AFP’s news content available on BNS’ in-room hospitality entertainment platform, RoomWise.
The content integration will enable guests to access AFP’s multimedia news content alongside other real-time information available on RoomWise, such as flight schedules, weather reports and guest messages.
Guests will be able to access AFP news from around the world, including the latest items on culture, lifestyle, entertainment, sports, business and politics via their in-room televisions, public screens inside hotels and even on their mobile devices when they are away from the hotel.
AFP’s news content, which also includes dedicated leisure multimedia content from AFPRelaxnews, will be available on a 24/7 basis in 7 languages.
“Travelers are keen to get tailored live news wherever they are at anytime. We are very proud to offer the best of our multimedia coverage 24/7, including text, photos, videos, key results and graphics. This brings more in depth news and interactivity to audiences as it combines the sophistication of the internet with the simplicity of a TV,” said Eric Wishart, AFP’s Regional Director for Asia-Pacific.
"Hotels will be able to display the content not only in the rooms but also in their lobbies on screens and via branded mobile applications for their guests, a ready-to-go 3 screens solution” said Nicolas Giraudon, Deputy Sales and Marketing Director for AFP Asia Pacific.
“We are very excited about this partnership with AFP which will further enhance our entertainment solution for the hospitality industry,” said Jeffrey Soong, CEO of BNS Ltd. “This service will make it easy for guests to access news and other real time services in their own language, even when they are on the move.”
