AFP on display at the inaugural Deauville Sport Images Festival
From 21 June 2025, the city of Deauville will host the very first edition of the Deauville Sport Images Festival, with AFP as an official partner. The work of the Agency’s photographers will be prominently featured through an exclusive exhibition entitled “A World of Sport”, along with three group exhibitions.
The Deauville Sport Images Festival, taking place from 21 June to 21 September 2025, will offer a fresh perspective on the values of sport through photography. The Festival will feature 12 free-to-access exhibitions throughout the city and host a major opening night event, La Nuit du Sport, on 21 June at the Deauville International Centre. A number of other events — including an auction, talks, and guided tours — will punctuate the Festival.
AFP will present an exclusive exhibition entitled “A World of Sport”
Through 25 photographs, the exhibition offers a unique lens on sport and its universal appeal. It will take visitors into the heart of playing fields, stadiums, and makeshift spaces where the passion for sport is expressed in all its diversity.
From the bustling streets of Lagos to the snow-capped peaks of Bolivia, from rugby on a floating pitch in Switzerland to horse races in Mongolia, each image captured by AFP’s photojournalists tells its own powerful story.
Beyond performance and competition, the exhibition highlights sport’s role as a vehicle for culture, social connection, and intergenerational transmission.

The work of AFP’s photographers will also be featured in three group exhibitions.
“20 Sports Photos That Made History”
This exhibition celebrates athletes through iconic images. These photographs capture unforgettable moments where champions such as Usain Bolt, Muhammad Ali, Jesse Owens, and many others left a lasting mark on the history of their sport — through intensity, power, or raw emotion.

“Best of 2024”
The Best of 2024 exhibition captures the unexpected moments of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The capital provided a unique playground for photographers covering the event — from beach volleyball matches beneath the Eiffel Tower to BMX competitions around the Obelisk at Place de la Concorde. The selected images highlight the athletes, the city’s iconic landmarks, and the enthusiasm of the public.

“Paralympic Feats”
This selection showcases the most striking moments of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
At the end of August, public enthusiasm remained high as the Paralympic events began, in an atmosphere blending joy and fierce determination.
The photographs on display bear witness to how, on every field of play, the Games helped raise global visibility and recognition for Paralympic disciplines.
