AFP hits 3,500 subscribers in 2010, up 27 percent in five years

The number of AFP's clients has grown 27 percent from 2,730 in 2005 to 3,500 in 2010. New international subscriptions (401) and clients in France (44) account for much of the increase.

International commercial turnover is today above turnover in France. It has risen from 47 percent in 2005 to 53 percent in 2010.

The new contracts are essentially for Internet and mobile customers. The most dynamic regions are Latin America (+40 percent), North America (+54 percent) and Africa (+37 percent). Good growth should also be noted in Asia (+13 percent).

The exceptional efforts made to enrich our portfolio have enabled AFP to develop and take root in new markets, both internationally and on new platforms:

The volume of text output has grown in six languages (+48 percent in French, +18 percent for other languages); Launch of an international video service in seven languages and an upgrade to high definition since September 15, making AFP the first agency to deliver in HD ; Launch of an animated graphics service in six languages since 2005 ; The multimedia service reinforced and made available in seven languages.

Text accounts for the majority of subscriptions (60 percent). Growth is driven by photo, video and graphics as well as multimedia which have enjoyed major advances and represent nearly 40 percent of AFP's revenue.
