AFP photographer Jim Watson honored at the WHCA Journalism Awards 2025
The AFP photographer was honored during the 2025 WHCA Journalism Awards edition, organised every year by the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA).
Jim Watson received an honorable mention in the Award for Excellence in Presidential News Coverage by Visual Journalists category, with a photography in which Elon Musk makes an electrifying entrance by joining Donald Trump, during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on October 5, 2024.
The Judges said “the photo was wordless yet descriptive, with Elon Musk's exuberant leap providing an unmistakable exclamation mark”.
