US President Donald Trump on Monday hailed right-winger Flavio Bolsonaro's surprise finish ahead of leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in Brazil's first-round election.
"It's a big victory -- close, but very, very big victory. Amazing," Trump said after Bolsonaro finished two percentage points ahead of Lula in Sunday's vote.
The two will now head into an October 25 runoff election.
