AFP CONFIRMS PIONEERING ROLE IN HD

The first global news agency to provide its entire video production in HD format, AFP is now filming and broadcasting HD video in Spanish.

The development in September 2011 provides significant benefits for AFP clients in Latin America, including access to HD quality videos, faster transmission and specially produced videos for the Latin American market.

The transition to HD strengthens AFP's output for television and production houses, as well as Web, mobile and public screen clients who need quality content in 16/9 format. AFP has been providing its entire video output in High Definition since 2010

AFP distributes more than 4,500 videos a month focusing on the main world news as well as features. The Agency brings its trademark quality of images and sound, editing and scripting, to coverage ranging from politics and the economy to lifestyle, the environment, fashion and major events like the Olympics and World Cups.

AFP produces videos from more than 90 bureaux around the world in eight languages - English, French, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Chinese and Polish. With new output in Spanish and a major increase in video production since 2010, AFP confirms its commitment to strengthening its presence in the video news sector.
