100 Days To Go Before the 8th Francophone Games Begin in Abidjan

In exactly 100 days, some 4,000 young artists and athletes from the 84 member States and governments of La Francophonie will come together in Abidjan to participate in the 8th Francophone Games that will take place from 21 to 30 July 2017 in Ivory Coast. This year's edition is focused on Solidarity, Diversity and Excellence. It is also meant to support the development of Ivory Coast and strengthen the national cohesion of the country.

In exactly 100 days, some 4,000 young artists and athletes from the 84 member States and governments of La Francophonie will come together in Abidjan to participate in the 8th Francophone Games that will take place from 21 to 30 July 2017 in Ivory Coast. EER: EU local leaders in Milan to discuss Lombardy Region entrepreneurial strategy

The European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) Award is an initiative of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) that rewards EU regions and cities with prominent future-oriented entrepreneurial strategies, with the aim of supporting the implementation of SME-focused policies at local level. The territories with the most visible, forward-looking and promising political strategy are granted the EER label for a specific year.

Youth unemployment - better equipping our youth for the common challenges ahead requires a local and regional approach

Youth unemployment continues to represent a considerable socioeconomic challenge in many EU Member States. An opinion adopted by the SEDEC commission of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) on 31 March calls for more cooperation with the public and private sector to help better match employee skills with labour market needs. It also welcomes the initiative to establish a European Solidarity Corps for young people.

The EU's assembly of local and regional representatives also adopted recommendations on the European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI), REFIT, the collaborative economy, the New Skills Agenda for Europe, the posting of workers as well as the Audiovisual Media Services Directive.
