AFP CEO conveys his condolences to Al Jazeera teams after the death of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh

Fabrice Fries, Chairman and CEO at AFP, has conveyed his condolences to Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al-Thani, Chairman of the Board for Al Jazeera media network, after the death of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.

Dear Sheikh Al-Thani,

Please accept my sincerest condolences for the death of your journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, killed while she was covering clashes in the Palestinian city of Jenin.

Shireen Abu Akleh was one of the most respected and recognized figures in the profession.
She was one of the most important journalists covering the Middle East, where she had always reported with great talent, courage and professionalism.

Her death is a great loss for journalism and we hope that the circumstances of her death will be fully investigated.

We express our support to all your teams in these very sad and difficult circumstances.
