The wife of the disgraced Chinese politican Bo Xilai will be tried for the murder of a British businessman on August 9, a lawyer for the family told AFP on Friday.

Gu Kailai will be be tried on August 9, lawyer Shen Zhigeng told AFP by telephone, eight days after state media said she had been charged with poisoning Neil Heywood.
