Suu Kyi makes Myanmar parliament debut

NAYPYIDAW, Myanmar (AFP)

Aung San Suu Kyi made her historic debut in Myanmar's fledgling parliament on Monday as the opposition leader and her party transform from dissident outsiders to mainstream politicians.

"I will try my best for the country," Suu Kyi told AFP as she arrived at the parliament in the capital Naypyidaw to take her seat as an elected MP for the first time.
