Storms halt Singapore Open Golf

SINGAPORE (AFP)

Thunderstorms ended play at the Barclays Singapore Open on Friday after just six hours of golf were possible and with half the field yet to start their second rounds.

England's Simon Dyson and Chapchai Nirat of Thailand are the joint leaders at six-under-par 65 mid-way through round two, while world number one Rory McIlroy is at one under par for the tournament.

Organisers did not make any announcement but last year's event was slashed to 54 holes after similar disruption by storms. Players will return to the course at 7:30 am on Saturday.
