Police, militants in Pakistan shootout: officials

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AFP)

Pakistan police were Sunday engaged in a gunbattle with militants holed up in a house in northwest Pakistan's Peshawar following a Taliban attack on the city's airport, officials said.

Two officers were wounded by a hand grenade as clashes broke out after officers acting on a tip-off raided a house close to the airport, which militants raided on Saturday evening, senior police official Imtiaz Altaf told AFP.
