N. Korea vows 'high-intensity' action

SEOUL (AFP)

North Korea, which is widely expected to carry out a nuclear test any day now, has vowed to stage a "high intensity" action and pursue long-range rocket launches, state media said Tuesday.

A meeting of the ruling workers party politburo "called for staging an all-out action of high intensity," the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said without specifically mentioning a nuclear test.

The meeting also "stressed the need to continue launching satellites ... and powerful long-range rockets," it said.
