Murray beats Federer in five sets to reach final

MELBOURNE (AFP)

Britain's Andy Murray downed Roger Federer in five sets to reach the final of the Australian Open on Friday.

The US Open champion proved too strong for the Swiss world number two winning 6-4, 6-7 (5/7), 6-3, 6-7 (2/7), 6-2 in exactly four hours and will now face Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final.
