Last Westerner held in Guantamo returns to native Canada

MONTREAL (AFP)

The last Westerner held in the US prison for terror suspects in Guantanamo returned Saturday to his native Canada, the Canadian government confirmed.

Omar Khadr left the prison in Cuba on a US military plane and arrived at a Canadian air base in Trenton in Ontario province, and he will be transferred to a high-security prison, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews told a news conference.
