A helicopter crashed in central London, fire officials said Wednesday.

"We're attending reports of a helicopter crash near Wandsworth Road in South Lambeth," the fire brigade said in a Twitter message, while witnesses posted photographs on the website of a large pall of smoke rising into the sky.
