Discover
A project funded by the Fonds Unique Interministériel (FUI) and labeled by Cap Digital, the French competitivity cluster for digital knowledge.
The SAMAR project aims at developing a multimedia information management platform for Arabic and validating it by conducting experiments on Arab news produced by AFP as well as on radio or television news in Arabic.
The SAMAR platform aims to annotate in Arabic at a level of language processing similar to what can be done for French or English. It will also categorize documents on the fly, transcribe video soundtracks and offer automatic translation from Arabic to English and French.
The project partners are SMEs Temis, Mondeca, Antidot Vocapia Research and the Limsi LLACAN (CNRS) and GREYC (INALCO) laboratories.
