The Robert Capa Gold Medal Award goes to Fabio Bucciarelli and the "National Press Photographers Association" (NPPA) honors four AFP photographer-reporters in its annual "The best of photojournalism" competition.

Javier Manzano, a freelance photographer for AFP, wins the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for feature photography
Javier Manzano, a freelance photographer working for Agence France-Presse, won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for feature photography on Monday April 15 for a photograph of two Syrian rebels guarding their position in the embattled city of Aleppo. It is the second year in a row that a photographer working for AFP has been awarded the most prestigious US journalism prize after Massoud Hossaini of Afghanistan won in the Breaking News category in 2012

AFP photographer honoured at the Human Rights Press Awards
AFP Dhaka photographer Munir Uz Zaman has been honoured at an Asian media awards ceremony for a "heart-wrenching" series of images of penniless Rohingya refugees striving in vain to flee communal bloodshed in Myanmar.
