Pulitzer prize winner Massoud Hossaini visits the US

AFP photographer Massoud Hossaini starts a 10-day tour of the northeastern United States on May 20th, having recently been awarded the Pulitzer prize in the Breaking News Photography category.

Massoud Hossaini will be travelling to New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC on his short tour of the United States at the end of the month. Aside from attending the official Pulitzer Luncheon in New York, Massoud will be visiting various news organizations, as well as giving interviews to radio stations and news outlets.

On May 24th, Hossaini will be in Washington, DC for a Q&A session at the Newseum, followed by an interview for the Pulitzer gallery at this same museum.

Hossaini's photograph depicting the immediate aftermath of a suicide bombing in his home country of Afghanistan on December 6th, 2011, in which he was injured, won him the plaudits of the international news community.
